DeLaval Expands Biosensor Portfolio with Real-Time Milk Solids Analysis for VMS V300
TUMBA, Sweden — DeLaval has officially expanded its advanced BioSensors portfolio with the launch of its new Milk Solids Analysis tool, designed specifically for integration with the DeLaval VMS™ V300 automated milking system. The new technology allows dairy operators to turn every individual milking session into a highly accurate milk-solids check without relying on manual sampling or recurring consumables.
Utilizing near-infrared spectroscopy, the state-of-the-art biosensor system automatically measures core components—fat, protein, and lactose—while the cow is actively being milked. By removing the need for manual sampling, the system drastically reduces labor requirements while providing operators with a continuous, real-time data stream regarding individual cow nutrition and overall herd health.
The data gathered by the sensor seamlessly integrates into the farm's central management software, empowering farmers to make immediate, precision-driven adjustments to feed rations. This localized, real-time data approach minimizes nutritional waste and maximizes milk quality premiums on the bulk tank.
