Northeast Dairy Innovation Center Awards $1.02M for Dairy Farm Modernization
MONTPELIER, Vt. — The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) has officially announced the allocation of $1.02 million in funding through its competitive Dairy Farm Modernization Grant program. The capital has been awarded to 16 distinct dairy businesses distributed across eight northeastern states, emphasizing practical tech deployment over theoretical research.
The funding round targets high-impact on-farm technologies designed to mitigate ongoing agricultural labor shortages and optimize herd wellness. Approved projects include the installation of automated robotic milking systems, smart IoT biometric cattle collars, computerized feed management software, and automated manure-handling robots.
"These awards bridge the gap between emerging AgTech and everyday operational realities," said an NE-DBIC representative. "By funding these specific, automated upgrades, we are helping regional farms reduce overhead, improve animal health, and remain competitive in a volatile market."
